Rutherford House School Extended School Information
At Rutherford House School, we are extremely proud to be able to support children in Extended School care ranging from the ages of four and above. We offer Breakfast Club, Enrichment clubs and Wrap Around Care (WAC) as well as a ADHOC services Monday – Friday.
Our Extended School Care provision allows us to offer a variety of exciting opportunities for children to take part in such as Sports, Music, Arts & Crafts, Language and much more. We are committed to ensure every child at Rutherford House School takes part in the clubs program due our huge diversity. We believe the extra – curricular activities offered enable the children to widen their skills, interests and hobbies.
We have been able to collaborate with parents, carers and children in order to maximise the provision that we provide and cater for the needs and interests of the children at our school. We are always open to ideas from outside agencies, parents and children in order to provide an extensive and personalised Extended School provision. We offer the following wrap around care provision:
Breakfast Club: 7.30am – 8.20am, £6.00 per day (ad hoc £6.50 per day)
Wrap Around Care 1: 3.20pm – 4.20pm, £6.00 per day (ad hoc £7.00 per day)
Wrap Around Care 2: 4.20pm – 6.15pm, £11.00 per day (ad hoc £12.00 per day) – (afternoon tea included)
As WAC 2 finishes at 6.15pm we ask parents and carers to arrive at school no later than 6.10pm to allow time for collecting children. If you arrive after 6.15pm you will be charged £10.00 per 15 minutes you are late. This is per the terms and conditions on the Wrap Around Care policy.

YEAR 3 - 6: CHESS CLUB (BEGINNERS & INTERMEDIATE) | EXTERNAL PROVIDER: Richard Weekes (20 Children) | Your child will learn the basic rules of chess or develop their skills further if they are already a keen player. Once they are comfortable with these concepts they’ll learn how to start a game and then be introduced to ‘check’ and ‘checkmate’ techniques to complete a game. Richard uses chess to strengthen children’s minds as it’s one of the best games that helps to develop logical, precise thinking. Children will get better at analysing problems and making better choices. They will become more patient and have sharper memories; all of which improve communication, confidence and builds self- esteem. RECEPTION - YEAR 6: COOKERY | EXTERNAL PROVIDER - Kids En Ciusine (12 children) | This club will be celebrating our healthy eating ethos, teaching children which foods are good for them to eat and which foods are in season throughout the year. Children will be provided with a hat and cotton apron to wear each week, however if your child has long hair please can you ensure they have a hair band with them or have their hair tied up for hygiene purposes. | 3.15pm - 4.20pm |
