What parents say about us

Positive comments from parents and visitors:

“Thank you for taking the time this morning to tell us more about Rutherford House. We were really impressed with the facilities, teachers and children– you must be very proud of the achievements of the school in such a short space of time.!

RHS is diverse and inclusive. The links with the local community is great and the teaching staff are committed and specialised in their fields.

Our child loves going to school, the trips and guests coming into the school enhance the educational opportunities for the children and keeps them engaged. Forest School is exciting and interesting….  Our child has really thrived at RHS.’’

His teacher has a happy disposition and discipline with the kids which is great and the singing definitely keeps them engaged.

I was very impressed and it was especially inspiring to see all your young vibrant staff in action, many of whom are ‘home-grown’. The children were all very well-behaved, which I think is a great foundation for learning and success at school.

After visiting this morning, and seeing how happy the children were, we both see that this would be a perfect fit for our son.’

We love that there are such a range of extra-curricular activities. This term alone there were 58 clubs for all year groups including arts, music, languages and STEM subjects. We don’t know which way our child will lean…academic, arty, sporty etc. RHS gives our child a great academic foundation with the option to try before we buy in terms of enrichment activities.

I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for helping my child have a happy transition to Rutherford. He agrees that he is enjoying his time at the school and is so very proud to be chosen as the Pupil Leader. The range of activities within the class and outside of school hours has been great and he seems to be taking it in his stride.

There was such a fantastic buzz of learning throughout – from the youngest children in Reception who seemed to be everywhere, exploring everything – and then to experience the excitement of model making and have such a philosophical discussion with your children in year 4 about whether or not robots could think. Learning seemed to be taking place everywhere – from outside on the sports pitches, to smaller spaces for guitar lessons, as well as in the corridor to give a child the additional support he needed as a short break from his lesson to help him to refocus; and with your deputy HT providing one to one reading intervention for a younger child. Your children were so positive about your school and they clearly evidenced their love of learning within a curriculum that is engaging them very positively. I was also impressed with the inclusivity of your provision.
